COMMITTEE FOR SC/ST (Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes)

Introduction

The SC/ST Committee is established under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 to protect the interests and rights of students, faculty, and staff belonging to these communities.

Objectives

  • 1. To prevent any form of discrimination or harassment against SC/ST members.
  • 2. To ensure equal opportunity and participation in all institutional activities.
  • 3. To raise awareness about constitutional rights and social justice.
  • 4. To investigate and address complaints in a fair and sensitive manner.

Functions

  • Conduct awareness sessions on inclusivity and anti-discrimination laws.
  • Maintain a confidential grievance register for SC/ST students and employees.
  • Forward unresolved or severe cases to higher authorities as per guidelines.
  • Submit annual reports to the Principal and Governing Body.
